What a day!!!!
I spent this sunny afternoon accompanying Nicholas Minassian at Goodwood, doughnutting and completing the hill climb in this stunning Mclaren 650S Spider. Fast would be a huge understatement for my experience in this car, with a top speed of 204mph this will be an unforgettable experience.
Today there were some delicious cream teas served in the Goodwood House Ballroom for the open days! Cant wait to have some more of these!
'Simply Unmissable' is the only term Goodwood can use to describe the first year of the reopened Members' Meeting. The roar of engines, lovely guests and a bustle of excitement filled the Motor circuit for the most spectacular weekend and I feel very lucky to of been there with my team of photographers. The motor circuit saw some of the most precious of motor cars taking on the uniqueness of Goodwood's track for the first time, for example, the 1980's Group 1 racing saloons. Perhaps the glorious weather and the joy of the members built up an atmosphere quite like no other, but one thing is for sure, the 72nd Members's meeting was special for all who were in attendance.
It is lovely to see a some familiar faces at Goodwood's 72nd Members' Meeting this weekend, one of those being David Gandy. The model and Car enthusiast was photographed below wearing his tailored specifically for the occasion suit from Henry Poole of London's Savile Row.
This stunning 1952 Aston Martin DB3 was brought to Goodwood this weekend by its owner Mark Midgley. This car is one of only 10 made and believed to be one of 6 remaining.
It was the eve of the 72nd Members Meeting and you couldn't of kept myself and a few of my photographers away! There was much excitement at the Motor Circuit for the special weekend that was about to commence; as the cars filled the paddocks and the drivers were briefed there was a certain charge in the air.
Formerly the property of Mr Jack Warner of Warner Brothers, the 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I convertible Sedan was just about the most expensive car in the world. In fact, he loved this car so much he had a second made for Marlene Dietrich. We don't know for sure who has ridden in the car but it is highly plausible that the likes of Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Douglas Fairbanks, Mae West and Ginger Rogers to name a few. I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful car today outside the front of Goodwood House.
I have been lucky enough to have my picture of one of the 40 cedar trees on the Goodwood Estate chosen by Lord March for the Spring/Summer Issue of the Goodwood Magazine. The trees that date back to the 18th century have a magnificent horizontal spread of branches making them almost as wide as they are high.
Sometimes you have to take a moment to appreciate the beautiful things in life; I am fortunate enough to work on one of the most beautiful estates in England. This image was taken on one of those extra special mornings when the birds were singing and the sun was golden.
The sun is shining down brightly on Goodwood Estate this early winter morning.
Although I wasn't the picture editor for Goodwood during FoS 2013, which took place on the scorching hot long weekend of the 11th - 14th of July, I was lucky enough to attend as a photographer. The event celebrated many landmarks such as the 50th anniversary of Porsche 911, 50 years of McLaren & importantly the 20th year of the Event itself which was first launched in 1993 by Lord March.
The Festival of Speed, held in the grounds of Goodwood House itself is one of the worlds largest Motorsport events. With a turn out of over 185,000 & its ability to uniquely bring together the top F1 cars, car enthusiasts, bikes and drivers the Festival of Speed is an event not to be missed!
